Stewart Window Tinting is an owner-operated business based in Cedar Hill, Missouri. When you call, you speak with the person who will measure your windows, recommend a film and install it. There is no sales team and no hand-off.

Homes are the main focus: rooms that overheat in the afternoon, glare on the television, windows that need privacy, and floors and furniture exposed to strong sun. Small commercial projects, such as a small office or storefront, are accepted too. There is no crew for large projects.

Estimates are free. They can begin remotely, with your location, the windows you want treated and approximate measurements, or be arranged on site. Stewart also offers paid film care and maintenance visits for existing film.

01

20+ years of window tinting

Over two decades of hands-on window film work. That experience goes into recommending the right film for each window and installing it carefully.

02

Owner-operated, personal service

There is no sales team and no hand-off. The person you speak with on the phone is the person who measures, recommends and installs your film.

03

Residential focus

Homes are the main focus. Small commercial projects are accepted when they are the right size for an owner-operated business.

The installation

Seven stages, and the third one matters most.

Film is not a complicated product. It is a demanding installation, and nearly every failure traces back to one stage.

Clean

The glass is cleaned, scraped and cleaned again. Anything left on the pane, a speck of grit or a spot of paint, becomes a permanent mark under the film, visible from both sides, for as long as the film is on the window. There is no fixing it afterwards. This is the stage that decides whether the job lasts.

  1. 01

    Measure

Every pane measured individually. Openings in the same building are rarely the same size, and a film cut to the wrong pane is wasted material.

  2. 02

    Prepare

Furniture moved back, sills and floors protected, blinds and hardware taken down where they are in the way. The area is set up before any water goes near the glass.

  3. 04

    Position

The film is cut oversized, floated into place on solution, and trimmed to the opening. Positioning happens while it can still be moved.

  4. 05

    Apply

Solution is worked out from the center to the edges in overlapping passes. Anything left behind is a bubble, and once the adhesive grabs, it stays.

  5. 06

    Finish

Edges are squeegeed down and the perimeter is dried. This is where a good installation stops looking like an installation at all.

  6. 07

    Inspect

Every pane checked from both sides in daylight, hardware refitted, the area put back as it was. Then the finished work is walked through with you before the job is called done.

Timing depends on the number of windows and the access, and is agreed with you directly once the windows and film are confirmed.
